The Los Angeles Lakers had a good start this season following a win against the Golden State Warriors on Saturday. With an early success, it appears that the Lakers rebuilding process is going in the right direction. But NBA latest rumors have spread that Julius Randle could be traded and the Orlando Magic are interested in the young power forward.
According to Inquisitr, the trade would play out with Julius Randle and Luol Deng going to the Magic in exchange for Serge Ibaka and Jeff Green. This deal would benefit both teams as the Lakers could need both Ibaka and Green's veteran leadership. The Magic could also benefit from Randle's youth and prolific scoring and get stability from Luol Deng in the 3 position. These NBA latest rumors are not far from happening.
Should the Lakers wait for Randle to bloom? There are risks in this trade since Randle has been spectacular this season. He has averaged 14.4 PPG, 7.9 RPG and 0.7 BLKPG to start the season and it seems he's becoming a star in the making. The team could either wait for Randle to maximize his potential or trade him right away.
But there are reports from Fox Sports that the Lakers are one of the teams that could make a trade this season. The Lakers' front office seems to be focusing on making D'Angelo Russel as the core of the franchise. Russel has been emerging as a leader and has been putting up big numbers for the team as well. Money-wise, it would be logical for the team to build around Rusell along with Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr.
The team is now 4-3 to start the season and it is arguable if they would become a play-off contender. These NBA latest rumors could happen if the Lakers want to get into the playoff right away.
