The 2014 neo-noir action thriller "John Wick" was a big success that promised a sequel and indeed, the continuation of the saga is scheduled to release on February 10, 2017. Keanu Reeves has already started his intense physical training and diet regimen for his return as the notorious high-profile assassin in "John Wick: Chapter 2".
The star of the "Matrix" trilogy is no stranger to the physical rigors of action film production. Even in his mid-50's Keanu Reeves can still sustain the athletic requirements needed in roles that demand intense maneuvers.
According to an article published by Foods 4 Better Health, Keanu Reeves does a combination of weightlifting and boxing training to stay in excellent shape. His physical program is fueled by an optimum balance of carbohydrates, proteins, and healthy fats.
As early as February 2015, directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch revealed the first phase of preparation for the "John Wick" sequel. Curiously, Keanu Reeves will reunite with Lawrence Fishburne in this upcoming film.
One of the latest updates covered by Slash Film online magazine revealed that "John Wick: Chapter 2" also pays homage to the legendary martial arts superstar, Bruce Lee. The overall full-length feature of it includes a mirror labyrinth fight scene reminiscent of the 1971 Hong Kong blockbuster titled "Enter the Dragon".
Keanu Reeves apparently enjoys most of his action roles given his profile as a huge martial arts enthusiast. His penchant for the oriental fighting traditions was initially unveiled during his work with the "Matrix" trilogy. He has successfully demonstrated his own brand of fighting prowess in other movies such as "Forty-Seven Ronin" and "The Man of Tai Chi".
As of 2016, the Canadian actor and producer garnered a total net worth of $350 million. In essence, Keanu Reeves is practically one of the top ten most wealthy movie celebrities of all time.
