Microsoft's Surface Pro lineup is definitely one of the brand's most successful devices. The Surface Pro 5 is in the works and will be released early 2017 in order to have the Intel Kaby Lake processor under its hood.

The Intel Kaby Lake processor is the newest processor to hit the market before 2016 ends. It seems that Microsoft is being wise in waiting for the powerful chip before releasing the Surface Pro 5. Having the Kaby Lake processor will make the upcoming Surface Pro 5 a strong competitor in the tablet market of 2017.

Many new devices are slated for release in the coming year, and Microsoft has to be sure they are on par and if not, better than the devices to be released by other big brands, namely Apple's iPad Pro. The Microsoft Surface Pro looks promising with all its cool features and high-end specifications. The new tablet is expected to sport a larger battery to allow longer usage. The Intel Kaby Lake processor will also launch this device a rank higher than other products.

Microsoft has been careful with releasing leaks and teases about the upcoming Surface Pro 5. As a result, many tech-savvy fans have come up with speculations about what the Surface Pro 5 will have under its hood.

The next-gen Microsoft tablet is rumored to have a whopping 16GB of RAM and a powerful Nvidia Pascal GPU or AMD. The Surface Pro 5 will also have the latest USB-C incorporated into the device. As for the operating system, the new Windows 10Restone 2 is slated for release in early 2017. That makes it the same as the scheduled launch for the Surface Pro 5. With that being said, it is likely that the new tablet will come pre-loaded with the latest OS.

In a previous report, it was stated that the Surface Pro 5 will have an ultra high 4K definition (UHD) screen plus a 3860 x 2560 pixel display. According to University Herald, the Surface Pro 5 is Microsoft's weapon to battle Apple's iPad Pro line, which is also slated for a much-needed upgrade. When the two tech-giants release their powerful new tablets, which one will reign in the market come 2017?
