Three years ago, "Grand Theft Auto 5" was released. Although it's been three years, the game is still grossing in sales. Rockstar Games is continuously developing more updates and expansion packs for "Grand Theft Auto 5" to keep players from getting bored of the game.
Though proved to be effective, this method is not enough to satisfy fans who are craving for a new content and even the arrival of "Grand Theft Auto 6". Taking their time with their game titles or surprising fans for a much-unexpected release has always been the style of Rockstar Games. One proof of this is like what they did with the coming release of "Red Dead Redemption 2."
Looking through Rockstar's game release timeline, 2018 is the most probable year for "Grand Theft Auto 6" release. Using the obvious pattern where the previous installations of GTA are marked with a 5-year gap.
According to GamenGuide, while the timeline is clear, many consider that Rockstar cannot be able to have a 2018 "Grand Theft Auto 6" release since grinding on two separate IPs, given "Red Dead Redemption 2" early disclosure will prove to be hard for their time and resources.
This pushes others to conclude that 2020 is the definite year for "Grand Theft Auto 6" release. There are lots of rumors regarding the latest location of "Grand Theft Auto 6". It could be another foreign country like UK or Japan where Yakuza and gang wars will be the setting. Another info commented it to be like Chicago, much like Vice City and Los Santos maps.
Fans are also eager for "Grand Theft Auto 6" to sport a female lead. This will be a key task for Rockstar Games as all of the previous installments feature a male protagonist.
As of the moment, all eyes are focused on "Red Dead Redemption 2." Waiting for someone from the production announce a "Grand Theft Auto 6" release will be the only choice for fans.
