Judge John Goger on Friday dismissed Tameka Foster Raymond's request for temporary custody of her children with R&B singer Usher following the pool accident involving their 5-year-old son Usher V. The young boy was in the care of Usher's aunt at the time.
After Goger issued his ruling Tameka Raymond was approached by her ex-husband and hugged her. She reportedly kept crying while testifying. Goger said no one could have prevented the accident but also told the singer that he needs to update his ex-wife of his children's whereabouts and who is taking care of them.
The ex-couple's son was stuck in the drain in Usher's pool a few days prior based on a report by the Atlanta police.
"They're just assessing him," Raymond told the media when asked about her son. "There is a lot we don't know. I mean you can't - it's only been a few days so we're very thankful that he's obviously alive but we still have to observe him and make sure that everything is OK," she added.
Her ex-husband known for his R&B album 'My Way' among others left the scene after the hearing. According to another report, Usher V "suffered a near-death accident." He was reportedly left unsupervised while the singer was elsewhere.
John Mayoue, Usher's lawyer said that Usher's aunt was right there when the accident happened which meant the children were unsupervised. Usher, reports say, was recording at the time and was just an exit away from the highway.
The pool accident shook Tameka Raymond, sources say, considering that her 11-year-old son with a former partner died from an accident last year. The stylist broke down during her testimony. "He doesn't confer with me regarding anything," Tameka told reporters. Usher and Tameka Raymond tied the knot in the year 2007 and divorced after two years.
