Mentors, whether in life or work, are the people who teach a person to be better. It is important that one knows where to find a good mentor.
According to Forbes, a mentor is someone who can inspire a person. A mentor must be able to enhance the potential that one has, they must also believe that their inputs and feedbacks will be put into good use.
There are companies that offer great mentorship like Unilever, a global leader in sustainable living. Unilever offers training and mentorship programs that fast tracks development of college graduates in a span of three years.
This established company helps their employee excel on their jobs. The company has interns who become full-time employee who works for the company for 10 or 20 years, The muse reported.
There is also Pandora, a personalized radio service that allows users to listen to music any time and every where. It is known for having a brilliant staff and CEO.
Director Marta Riggins explained that Tim Westergren, Pandora CEO, is an incredible person to work with. He is known for being a humble, kind and exciting leader.
Jive is another company known for having great mentors. It is a company that provides unified web conferencing systems and cloud mobile solutions to other corporations.
The company has a mentorship program, they also love to learn from their colleagues. Kosheno Moore, Senior Enterprise Community Manager, explained that it is normal to see in Jive employees from other departments helping a co-worker from another department.
Jobs and Hire reported that employee relationship is important to a company. The site reported that only 37 percent out of 71 percent of employers believes that they have dedicated employees
"Companies that have low employee engagement are detached from their employees. Employers must first now what their employees need before they attend trainings and seminars," they stressed. Once an employer knows what his employees need, he can then create a more effective way to help his employees. This goes to show that proper mentorship is vital for an employee for them to be actively engaged at their work.
