With Kevin Durant leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team is now looking to remodel it's roster. Plans have been made to negotiate trades for available players who could fill in for the small forward position. Some notable names that could be involved in these NBA trade rumors are Paul George and Rudy Gay.
The franchise acquired Victor Oladipo in the offseason but they have no plans of giving him the role of a one-two punch player that would complement Russel Westbrook. Oladipo is the 2nd overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft and has proven himself to be a top player in the league. But the Thunder's idea is to make him come off the bench just like what they did with James Harden before.
According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, NBA trade rumors have it that the Thunder is still in need of bigger wings because it would definitely put everyone in the team into place. Oladipo would be coming off the bench, and Andre Roberson to be their defensive specialist at the 2 spot.
The Thunder planned on getting Rudy Gay with an offer that includes Cameron Payne but the second-year guard got into an injury which made the deal awry. But the team is still interested in Gay since he can stretch the floor which could be beneficial for the Thunder bigs.
There are still NBA trade rumors that the Thunder might be looking for other wing players according to CBS Sports. Now, Paul George could also be a perfect fit for the Thunder since he can provide outside shooting and is an established small forward.
But acquiring George seems impossible since the Pacers have no plans of shopping him according to Bleacher Report. The Pacers are still looking to build around George and become a play-off contending team again.
Now, it seems that the best possibility for these NBA trade rumors to happen is the Thunder getting Gay. If everything falls into place, the Thunder would be a force to reckon with.
