Let's Play Video Games reports that sources from both Ubisoft and Nintendo have confirmed that the game will be launching alongside the Nintendo Switch. The new RPG game will be a crossover between "Raving Rabbids" and Mario.
The game will be focusing on Rabbids characters invading the Mario universe. It will involve some cameos from famous Mario characters but will center more on minor characters, like Yoshi who will be a primary party member of the game alongside a playable Rabbid.
The game will also have a new Bowser, who will be based on the design of the Rabbids. The new Bowser will be recurring boss enemy in the game.
The RPG game doesn't have a formal title yet but it the working title for it is "Mario RPG: Invasion of the Rabbids." Ubisoft is developing the game, but Nintendo is keeping a close watch on it.
Nintendo is ensuring that Ubisoft will be able to achieve to objectives with this game. One is for the game to be finished by the time it's launched and second Ubisoft to follow Nintendo's internal specifications for how Mario characters and iconography should be presented.
The new Nintendo Switch game will have a playable demo by January, when Nintendo details further the game, for the press to experience. The game will also feature a quick save option to ensure players are able to save the game on short notice, especially when the Switch is about to drain its battery.
Though no word yet is coming from Ubisoft or Nintendo, Gadgets 360 is saying that the report should not be dismissed just yet. Ubisoft and Nintendo have had close ties between them.
Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had already praised the Switch, even before it was revealed. Ubisoft has also been offering generous support to many of Nintendo's console. There's actually rumors that the new "Beyond Good and Evil" game will be an exclusive Switch game.
