The shootings in Pomona that happened over the weekend continue to rack the heads of the authorities, with still no arrests made and no leads to follow through.

The homicide detectives compared notes yesterday but as of now, there are still no reports as to how each of the Pomona shooting was connected with each other. In a string of gunshots in different areas, people are left wondering why this could happened, especially after a peace rally was held.

The Pomona shootings happened in just 6 hours within 5-square miles of each other. The first victim was 45-year old Jose Cerda who was shot dead 9:30 PM Saturday as he was riding his bicycle when a car pulled over beside him. 2 hours after, an 18-year old and 24-year old Isais Garcia Lopez were walking down Orchid Lane when a gunman opened fire. Lopez died while the 18-year old whom the police did not identify was airlifted to the hospital and is undergoing surgery. Around 2 AM Sunday gunshots were heard and police found one 29-year old man shot in the leg. Just before 3 AM, 29-year old Angel Bravo was gunned down just as he left his Benedict way house on the way to a store. "I couldn't hug my son for the last time," Sandra Skinner, the mom of one the victims shares. She goes on to say, "Whoever did this, they need to stand up and be a man."

"No one's been either arrested, or brought up for it, so there's a lot of unanswered questions," the town's Pastor Chris Cotinola says. All the significant information they have are all the victims were men, that they were all shot more than once and a white compact car was the one that drove pass and shot Bravo dead.

Pomona is not new to shootings leading to multiple homicides. Last March, 4 men died from a string of unconnected shootings and last April, a 13-year old and 16-year old were shot dead on Orchid Lane, the same area where Lopez died and the 18-year old was shot as well.

Ironically, the peace rally hosted by two churches held just hours before the weekend's shooting was in memory of those who have died from gun violence.
