Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard's 'Allied' is Not 'Mr And Mrs Smith;' Actress Plays Down Angelina Jolie Movie Comparison

French Actress Marion Cotillard is starring in multiple movies that would come out in the next year or two. The beautiful Frenchwoman would star, alongside Brad Pitt, as a spy who falls in love with another spy in "Allied." The movie will be in US theaters during the last week of November.
The "Inception" star's roles have been strange but striking in different movies because she did stab Christian Bale's Batman in "The Dark Knight Rises" and played a dreamy, suicidal wife in "Inception". Aside from "Allied" Marion Cotillard is to be the main female character in "Assassin's Creed" wherein her character is something she and the trailers have yet to explain.
Many who saw the trailer for "Allied" mentioned it was parallel to "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," a movie where Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie first met and fatefully became partners in real life, but she played down the notion. Cotillard said "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" had a sense of comedy and lightheartedness compared to "Allied" and its passionate, war-torn drama.
"Allied" partners Cotillard with Pitt as two spies who had fallen in love in a war that would split them apart. The actress mentioned that the role of a "powerful woman who takes responsibility" drew her to play the character after reading the script four years in the past.
Having a knack for strange roles, Huffington Post asked Cotillard in an interview about her feelings stabbing Batman in "The Dark Knight Rises". The actress said she "didn't dare to go and say hello to him." She said it was only after Bane (played by Tom Hardy) came on set and they began to joke with Christian Bale that she felt great about her role.
The same interview also asked her about her role in Assassin's Creed. She said she believes in Michael Fassbender's capabilities. She added that that talent and Director Justin Kurzel's directing capabilities would make a work that is "more and more amazing each time" and that she's "sure of that."
"Allied," starring Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt, will be shown in US Theaters on November 23.
