Police confirmed Tuesday that the body found in Vacaville, in the woodsy area of Laguna Valley Park, was that of Sandra Coke's.
The federal investigator who lived in Oakland but worked in Sacramento was reported missing August 4 after allegedly going out to respond to a missing call about her missing dog, Ginny.50-year old Coke has been searching for the black and white cocker, even posting an ad in Craigslist offering a $1,000 reward.
A source says that Sandra "was very attached to the dog and very concerned about trying to get her back," After failing to return home, her daughter tried to reach both of the investigator's phones, tracking one along the Interstate Highway in Richmond and the other near Oakland. Before her body was found in the Vacaville park, her mini cooper was found parked near their home on August 6. In a short news conference, spokeswoman Johana Wanston says, "We are extremely limited in the information we can share about this investigation".
Authorities say that Sandra is speculated to be with Randy Alana, a registered "high sex offender" during her disappearance. His arrest was issued August 6 for tampering with his GPS device and for failing to participate in the monitoring program. The two briefly dated a couple of years back and reports say Alana recently contacted her. Police shares that the sex offender remains a "person of interest" in the case.
Just days before her body was located in the Vacaville park, the family created a Facebook page Find Sandra Coke and even offered $100,000 as a reward for any information about her whereabouts. "My sister is an incredibly devoted mother and sister and friend and co-worker. We will not leave until she is found," Coke's sister Tanya Coke-Kendall tells.
The search team included at least 2 dogs and over 70 searchers from different agencies. They started in the area of Solano County Fairgrounds until they got a tip about a body found in Vacaville.
