The 10th anniversary of the Apple's iPhone is coming in 2017 and all eyes are watching for news about iPhone 8, which will undoubtedly be its anniversary iPhone model. Advanced information or rumors says that it will come in three different models.
An ITechpost report says that the first model will be a small 4.7 inch model with single lens camera and LCD monitor. The other will be a bigger 5.5-inch variant with LCD monitor and dual lens camera. The last variant will probably be a big 5.8-inch model with dual lens camera and OLED display.
The OLED display is a new feature and according to MacRumors, only the third predicted model will have this feature. The three variants being offered run contrary to usual Apple offerings of new models.
When the first iPhone 7 models were introduced, there were only two models, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus. The only difference between them was found in the camera set-up. Choosing the right model was easy for the users.
The big difference in the models is the OLED feature which allows marked improvement in the design of smart phones. Phones with OLED display are usually thinner and more flexible. OLED displays use plastic substrates instead of glass and use less power for its operation since unlike the LCD displays, they do not need backlight to project images.
When Apple installs this feature in its iPHone 8 model, it will set the pace for other phones to follow because of the big difference between the LCD and OLED displays. In 2017, it is predicted that new phone models will be sporting OLED displays.
As reported by Jobs & Hire, Apple has been negotiating for reduced prices from their display suppliers and is also investing heavily on OLED technology in preparation for the 2017 smart phone wars. Users will have to check the features of upcoming phone models to determine if their new features justify their higher costs.
