Fans were excited when news got out about the renewal of "The X-Files" for its 11th season but rumors have spread that Fox plans to cancel the series and air it on a much later date. "The X-Files" season 11 is all set but it appears that the cast aren't.

Dana Walden, CEO of Fox Television Group, confirmed to reporters that the cast will be returning for 'The X-Files' season 11. Walden even expressed that season 11 will have more episodes than its predecessor which only aired six episodes.

There are no issues about the show's frontrunners leaving but other reasons might be the cause of the series being pushed back to a later date. According to Counselheal, the air date delay of "The X-Files" season 11 isn't because of the cast's commitment but rather their availability.

"The X-Files" season 11 is expected to have more than 8 episodes but the stars' availability made it impossible to do so. David Duchovny is situated in California while Gillian Anderson is in the UK. It even made the whole scenario complicated with series being filmed in Vancouver.

There haven't been any confirmations whether new casts will be taking part in the next season but Duchovny and Anderson will be coming back. Fans should be expecting the air date of "The X-Files" season 11 to be extended later in 2018 or early in 2019.

In other news, Game N Guide revealed a little bit of "The X-Files" season 11 spoilers. The 11th installment of the Fox series will have Fox and Dana encounter the extraterrestrials in their human form. The whole show will take it to another level thus satisfying more fans to keep them watching.

It's definitely bad news that "The X-Files" season 11 will be delayed but Fox assured viewers that it will renew the series. For more news and updates about "The X-Files", stay tuned.
