Nintendo will be releasing their new console early next year and they have prepared a new Pokemon game exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. "Pokemon Stars" is a branch version of "Pokemon Sun And Moon," however, there are a few differences between the two titles.

Pokemon and Nintendo go way back. The two might have been the embodiment of the childhood of many millennials. The strange part is that 'Pokemon Sun And Moon' was released before Nintendo Switch even hit the market. Many fans thought that the game would be playable on the said console once its release date comes along.

However, that may not be the case as recent reports suggest that Nintendo Switch will have their own version of "Pokemon Sun And Moon" entitled "Pokemon Stars." The title came as a huge surprise to fans, especially since it was never heard of while "Pokemon Sun And Moon" was still in development.

What could 'Pokemon Stars' have in store for players? Many speculate that the new Pokemon title will be the same game as "Pokemon Sun And Moon," but with better graphics that match the capabilities of the Nintendo Switch. It is defined more of as a branch version rather than an independent game as per The US Examiner

According to iTechPost, "Pokemon Stars" may just be a temporary code name for the upcoming title. The game is being developed by Game Freak and will be released in 2017 possibly around March to match the launch of Nintendo Switch. The same report claims that "Pokemon Stars" was actually being developed at the same time "Pokemon Sun And Moon" was. Since "Pokemon Stars" spent more time in the oven and is developed for the Nintendo Switch, it will have a lot more features.

The new features are of the essence primarily because "Pokemon Stars" will be the first Pokemon game for a home console. Nintendo wants the new Pokemon game to be unique, perhaps the start of the Pokemon home gaming era. The new game is said to have the same Alola map that "Pokemon Sun And Moon" have. However, everything will be in more detail, higher resolution and smoother graphics. The art style and gameplay are likely to be the same.

As for the "Pokemon Stars" release date, Nintendo intended for a release in the summer of 2017, however, it seems it was moved to a later in 2017. The delay was caused by the decision of the development team to pause development to focus on "Pokemon Sun And Moon" before its released. The good news is, players will still be able to trade Pokemon between"Pokemon Sun And Moon " and "Pokemon Stars."
