Finally, the official trailer of the much awaited fim "Silence" has been released. It has received much praisers from viewers but the question of whether it will live up to expectations remain.
The movie world expects this film to be a masterpiece since it has been Director Martin Scorsese's pet project for almost three decades. After its release, fans were delighted that after a long wait, they can now see the film that has been subject to many rumors and speculations.
One of the rumors involving this film is that the project was delayed because the first actor Daniel Day-Lewis slated for the film had another project to work on. As per Vanity Fair, another reason for the long delay is that Scorsese had other priority films to make.
The movie "Silence" is about a Jesuit priest, Father Cristovão Ferreira (played by Liam Neeson), who went missing in 17th century Japan. Two young Jesuit priests were tasked to search him and it is their adventurous search that accentuates the plot of the film.
The two priests, Father Sebastiao Rodriguez and Father Francisco Garrpe are respectively portrayed by actors Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver. Deadline reported that five Japanese actors played important roles in the movie "Silence" namely, Tadanobu Asano, Yosuke Kubozuka, Shinya Tsukamoto, Ciaran Hinds and Issey Ogata.
Most of the feedbacks on the movie trailer were positive. Viewers were impressed by Scorsese's work in the cinematography of "Silence." The main characters were excellently played by the actors who had to portray the hardships the two priests had to suffer as they search for their mentor. The faith of priests was under severe test under the hands of cruel Japanese lords of that era.
The story is based on a novel by Shusaku Endo which was translated by William Johnson. Incidentally, the title of the film "Silence" is the same as title of the book.
