Singer-songwriter Miguel, whose real name is Miguel Jontel Pimentel, was arrested for DUI 2:15 AM in a California freeway while driving his 2013 BMW X6.
The Adorn hit maker was initially pulled over for over speeding and tinted windows. After the freeway patrol smelled alcohol upon rolling down his window, the patrol takes out his analyzer and Miguel gets a 0.10 level-which surpasses the 0.8 acceptable level in California. Miguel was then arrested and bailed out a $5,000 fine, with authorities saying that he was cooperative throughout the ordeal. The R&B singer is due for a court appearance for his DUI on September..
This isn't the first time Miguel turned heads for not exactly his music and talent. Last May, he ended up kicking a fan accidentally after a jump gone wrong during his performance at the Billboard Music Awards. He shares in a previous statement, "In the first night, I'll tell you, that night I couldn't sleep. I was worried about the girl, obviously. And wanting her to be OK, and that's what she told me, she was OK. I was comforted by that," he states. Miguel invited her backstage and seemed to have made amends but recently, fan Khyati Shah might file a suit against the singer after finding out she is suffering from brain damage symptoms. There are no comments yet from the crooner's side.
Miguel getting arrested for DUI isn't surprising news in the industry. He's merely one among the many celebrities who were drinking a little bit too much just before heading out. Reese Witherspoon, Lindsay Lohan and the recently deceased Lisa Robin Kelly have also been arrested for DUI and did some jail time too.
As for the 27-year old Kaleidoscope Dream star, no comments or statements have been released following his arrest for failing the sobriety test.
