The New Orleans Pelicans have started to win some games after Jrue Holiday's return to the lineup. It seems that the Pelicans are showing some signs of life crawling its way back into the 12th spot in the Western Conference. But NBA trade rumors are still out there that Anthony Davis might get traded to the Indiana Pacers.
According to Headlines & Global News, Davis could be traded before the trade deadline next year. The 6'11" big man has been breaking records to start the season but Davis' frustration kicked in as the Pelicans lost straight games despite his efforts.
The Pelicans might not be making the playoffs this season with so the franchise needs to decide now if they want to rebuild or still build around Davis. But with the team's current status, NBA trade rumors suggest that Davis wants out of the team.
Best case scenario for Davis is to join a top contender that would have a better shot of getting into the playoffs, iTech Post reported. Some notable teams would be the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Chicago Bulls.
But both the Bulls and Cavaliers are already established teams and it's quite hard for these two to fit Davis into their respective rotations. The Indiana Pacers would be a better fit since it doesn't have enough depth in its frontcourt with Al Jefferson as the starting center.
The Pacers are 10th in the Eastern Conference but with Davis integrated into the system, the team could easily get into the 7th or 6th spot. He could start at the power forward position, Jefferson at center and Paul George at small forward which would give the Pacers a formidable frontcourt trio.
If these NBA trade rumors would happen, it would play out with the Pacers sending Thaddeus Young, Rodney Stuckey and Myles Turner to the Pelicans in exchange for Davis. It would be a valid transaction and both teams could benefit from it.
These NBA trade rumors are just speculations that may or may not happen. For now, fans just need to wait so stick around for more NBA updates.
