Steam's annual autumn sale went full swing last week but instead of game deals, games went crazy with the new trend, Steam Awards. The tally lets you nominate a game of your choice to win a prestigious award. However, there is one category that has been the talk of the town for a while.
Steam awards attracted gamers like flies but the one who became the jewel of the eye is the 'We Didn't Think of Everything' award, where gamers are free to vote for a game and its own category. There are lots of quirky nominations but the most favorite are the 'GAME THAT DESERVES A SEQUEL' award where the favorite nominee is "Half Life 2" from Valve.
The fan-made categories received many positive feedbacks and support from the community. The goal of the fans was to garner enough votes to win the award and get Valve's attention and push them to give in to the mob's request and make the sequel the every one yearning all along.
The valve in the other side is still quiet about the sequel. However, on some occasions, they gave exceedingly elusive hints that only worsened the condition of the "Half Life" hungry fans. Maybe with the award, players are hoping that Valve will give them a concrete clue about the sequel.
It's only natural for "Half-Life" to have a huge fan base. The games are one of a kind and carry a lot under its belt. "Half Life" won the Computer Game of the Year Award (it's real award by the way) from Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, USA. According to reports "Half-Life 2" also received praises as it is described as a near-to-perfect sequel.
Sadly, there is no way to know what other gamers have nominated to the awards. But judging from the way "Half Life" is going, we are crossing fingers that Valve will continue and make a sequel that will be worth our wait.
