‘Silence’ News & Updates: Andrew Garfield Spirituality Increased After Making The Film; Movie Will Premiere In Vatican

Martin Scorsese "Silence" developed Andrew Garfield's spiritual development. Vatican will be the first to see the movie.
Andrew Garfield admitted that he believes he was not called to be a priest but he was called to work on this film. He believes that his role as a Jesuit priest helped him spiritually.
Scorsese explained that Garfield came to the point where he could "out Jesuit a Jesuit." He explained that there were scenes on the script were Garfield would point out that "a Jesuit wouldn't say that," Just Jared reported.
This much-awaited religious film will premiere in the Vatican, "Silence" premiere night will be low key. Pope Francis will not attend the premiere night but the movie will be shown to the Pontifical Oriental Institute for The Jesuits that will include 400 priests.
CinemaBlend reported that the film has been a pet project of Scorsese fore almost 30 years. The director believes that this will be a return to his religious films.
Scorsese first encountered the "Silence" in 1989 and has attempted t make this movie a couple of times. He only found the opportunity to make this film last year in Taiwan.
The film is about two Jesuit priests named Father Rodrigues (Andrew Garfield) and Father Garrpe (Adam Driver) who is looking for Father Ferreira (Liam Neeson) in Japan. Father Ferreira denounced God to save his life from the Tokugawa Shogunate, Jobs & Hire reported.
Father Rodrigues and Father Garrpe preach God's word but they were captured by the Shogunate. They were brought into a torture chamber called "the pit" were they have to denounce God or be tortured to death.
In this film, the two Jesuits priests faith were really tested as they travel into a foreign country where it is illegal to practice their faith." Silence" will be available to the public on December 23.
