"Pacific Rim: Maelstrom" is an anticipated upcoming American science fiction monster movie directed by Guillermo del Toro. It is intended to be a sequel to the previously released movie "Pacific Rim" that hit the theaters back in 2013. The first movie revolved on the humanity creating gigantic monsters and machinery to protect the earth from the Kaijus and will battle against the colossal monsters that have emerged in the earth through a portal from the bottom of the Pacific Ocean.
It was recently confirmed by Yibada that "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom" is definitely going to happen and John Boyega popularly known as Finn from "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is going to be playing the role of the lead actor in "Pacific Rim: Maelstrom". Zhang Jin, a Chinese actor, will also be a part of the movie's casts together with other Chinese actors and actresses such as Wesley Wong, Lily Ji, Qian-Yong Chen, Chen Zitong, Lang Yingying and Xiao Yang.
Jobs & Hire also previously confirmed that John Boyega will be in the movie and stated that Boyega is "the better man for the job". The mentioned cast may have gotten the fans extra excited and to add to the excitement, Guillermo del Toro discussed a few things about the film to Yahoo and said that the movie will be huge. "We have an epic battle at the end [that] we started designing a couple weeks ago," he said.
Toro also mentioned to Yahoo that they're attempting to create something really big and is currently focusing on the Kaijus and their origin and history; that is why there had already been delays and a lot of pushed release dates. Apparently, they are going to take the movie to a whole new level of awesome. The sequel, however, was reported to be "very different" from the first movie and will be released in the big screens on February 23, 2018.
