This might not be the last time fans will see Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully and David Duchovny as Fox Mulder. Fox classic scifi show "The X-Files" Season 11 might return on 2018.
Fox has not announced the airing date for the classic sci-fi series because they are still looking into Anderson's schedule. Anderson already has a lot of projects lined up for next year.
GameNGuide reported that the actress is uncertain if she will return to the series. Even though, some fans think that this is just a publicity stunt.
"The X-Files" Season 11 will probably return in 2018 to give way to Anderson's other projects. There are also speculations circulating that Walter Skinner will appear in the new season.
Walter Skinner, played by Mitch Pillegi, has been a vital character in the series. Skinner is an FBI Assistant Director, who was the former supervisor of Scully and Mulder.
Fans should brace themselves for Skinner's return. The site reported that "Mulder and Scully could find a shocking new discovery about their former boss."
According to TV Line, 83 percent of viewers wanted to have "The X-Files" Season 11. Show runner Chris Carter explained that he finds it hard to believe that the series will end after all the support they got from the viewers.
Carter explained that he already spoke with Dana Walden, Fox CEO, where he found an appetite for the show. He also added that the meeting was "certainly a chance for them to find out how they're going to get them selves off the precipice."
Jobs & Hire previously reported that the casts of "The X-Files" Season 11 will try to create more than eight episodes for the show. The site reported that because of availability problems it is hard for them to make more than eight episodes.
To make things more complicated the stars of the show live in different parts of the world. Duchovny lives in California while Anderson lives in UK, while, the show is shot in Vancouver, Canada. Fans would really have to wait longer for "The X-Files" Season 11, but they can be assured that it will be worth the wait.
