Next month, we will welcome New Year with a lot of explosions and one of this is the most anticipated movie "One Piece Film: Gold". The film was released earlier in Japan and now, the longest running series will be showing its 13th film adaptation on January 10-17.

"One Piece Film: Gold" was first released on Japan which grossed over 49 million dollars overseas. The film was directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto who also directed some of the best episodes of the animated series while Toei Animation produced the film.

The movie will follow Monkey D Luffy together with the rest of the Straw Hat Crew as they visit the island named Gran Tesoro, an independent country that houses lots of casinos and harbors tons of gold reserves. It is a glittering city where laws of the World Government didn't apply.  As a result, it became a sanctuary to pirates, marines and rich people alike.

According to GamenGuide, Straw Hat Crew will visit the place hoping the hit the jackpot. They will then clash with island's emperor, Gild Tesoro because of the king's greed and desire for wealth. Gild Tesoro will be a no push-over as his deep pockets can win anyone under his control.

Producers dubbed "One Piece Film: Gold" for the comfort of the non-Japanese fans. Recent reports announced that the English version will feature Colleen Clinkenbeard as Luffy, Christopher R. Sabat as Zoro, Luci Christian as Nami, Sonny Strait as Usopp, Eric Vale as Sanji, Brina Palencia as Chopper, Stepanie Young as Robin, Patrick Seitz as Franky and Ian Sinclair as Brook.

According to The BitBag, a TV special entitled "One Piece: Heart of Gold" was released that served as the back-story for "One Piece Film: Gold". It is set after the Dressrosa arc where Luffy and the crew met someone named Myskina Olga, a young girl who keeps a treasure called 'Pure Gold'. She is hunted by Mad Treasure, the evilest treasure hunter in the world, under orders of Gild Teroso.

Though it is a stand alone episode, fans are recommended to see "One Piece: Heart of Gold" to give them a better understanding of the events in the movie. "One Piece: Heart of Gold" is available to numerous anime streaming sites online, just be careful when opening links from unfamiliar sites.
