Eyebrows were raised when it was rumored that an independent "Aquaman" movie is on the horizon to be directed by James Wan. It is indeed happening in 2018. Jason Momoa's sea-dwelling hero will not be seen briefly anymore like in "Batman V Superman," it's going to be his own story.
Amber Heard graces "Aquaman" as co-Atlantis occupant (and queen), Mera after she was introduced in Justice League. Willem Dafoe also plays Vulko, whose a bit complicated switching from the main character's domineering advisor to a concerned personal friend, according to Empire Online.
News from The Seven Seas indicates that "Aquaman" will hit the big screen after "Wonder Woman" (June 2, 2017), followed by "Justice League" (November 17, 2017) and finally, "The Flash" (March 16, 2018) but expected to be very exciting under Zack Snyder's watch.
Something to look forward to is the sight to behold in the underwater kingdom of Atlantis. Aquaman is the reigning king in that sea territory. Aquaman adaptations in the past did not quite justify the gravity of action that can be done under water. It can clearly lead in the battle of cinematic's "pioneer", as published by Geek Exchange.
James Wan's being around the industry made him the best director that can handle the stand-alone film of "Aquaman." He seems to have a good chemistry as well with the DC Films' new boss, Geoff Johns. Justice League is presumed to be the origin of Aquaman.
It is recently announced that "Aquaman" has moved its release date to a later date. It was originally scheduled to premiere on July 27, 2018. At least it is now set to be released finally on October 5, 2018, and would likely push through if everything goes well perhaps with some members of the "Justice League" gang as guest characters, as published in an earlier article here on Jobs&Hire.
