Challenged with Sony's PS4 Pro, Microsoft had to set the bar with its high-end console, Project Scorpio. While Project Scorpio is currently in the works and still has one year left before its release, Microsoft's Phil Spencer has provided series of information about what to expect from the console.
According to Trustedreviews, Microsoft has changed the traditional console cycles with Project Scorpio wherein they would now try to update or change the console depending on the demand or trend. Xbox 360 for instance, was not improved nor updated it remained stagnant throughout the years. With exact details, Xbox One Scorpio is expected to be released in December 2017 amounting from £450 to £600.
The expectations for the console heightened up after its release was announced and Microsoft has answered all these expectation in a conference. According to PCAdvisor, Project Scorpio will be impressively powerful due to the six teraflops of graphical performance it provides. While it's three teraflops less than the recently announced Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080, the graphical output could rival that of the GTX 970 and as such, provide the console with virtual reality capabilities as well as much improved gameplay. The Xbox Scorpio is capable of running games in the virtual reality. However, Spencer believes that in order for a VR to be successful it needs to be wireless that is why solutions for this part are currently being tackled by Microsoft.
The last feature reported is an improved gaming experience Project Scorpio looks to provide users with a generally improved gaming experience in a number of ways. Microsoft revealed that the console will be able to render graphics at 60Hz, leading to a buttery-smooth gameplay that is synced to the refresh rate of the television, although it is not sure if this is applicable to 4K gaming.
Microsoft promised that the Project Scorpio is worth waiting for because they are working hard to meet or even surpass the expectation of the public and to make also the product worthy to purchase in the future.
