This year's Game Of The Year Awardee at The Game Awards 2016 is sharing their blessings this holiday season by hosting an in-game "Overwatch" Christmas Event. Blizzard has confirmed the exciting news and fans can't wait for the event to start.
Nearly every popular game hosts their own Christmas events and with good reason, to keep the holiday cheer alive even in the gaming world. Blizzard's popular shooting game "Overwatch" is no exception. Many fans have been waiting for a sign that "Overwatch" would have a Christmas Event this year, and now it has been confirmed!
According to Express, Blizzard has confirmed that "Overwatch" will have a massive Christmas Event for PS4, XBox One and PC. Fans are delighted that the December event wasn't just a rumor floating around in cyberspace. To make thing seven better, the event is sooner than you may think!
The game's official Twitter page @PlayOverwatch posted a cute GIF to invite everyone to their "Overwatch" Christmas Event. The heartwarming GIF invitation is both exciting and filled with the spirit of the holidays. The post also reveals the Christmas event's date, and it will be help on December 13, 2016.
It is definitely good news that "Overwatch" will hold an event to celebrate the jolliest season of the year despite being a relatively young game. The team-based shooting game was released in May of this year and it surprised many as it quickly rose in popularity and is even GOTY 2016. According to International Business Times, the success "Overwatch" gained is the reason they consistently host events to celebrate the special seasons of the year.
