Robin Thicke's wife Paula Patton was perfectly fine with the sizzling performance her husband Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus did on top of the MTV VMAs 2013 stage. But his mother wasn't.

According to TMZ, Paula Patton was fine with the controversial twerking Miley Cyrus did in front of her husband, as opposed to earlier claims that the actress was irate at the sight of the 'We Can't Stop' singer dancing almost naked with her hubby.

A source confirmed that Patton already knew what was about to happen since she had been visiting her husband in their rehearsals. On the other hand, Robin Thicke's mom, Gloria Loring, expressed her disappointment on the insanely, over-the-top carnal gestures the former Disney teen star did to her son, in her OMG! Yahoo! interview.

"I just keep thinking of her mother and father watching this. Oh, Lord, have mercy. … I was not expecting her to be putting her butt that close to my son. The problem is now I can never 'unsee' it," Robin Thicke's mom said. "Him? Loved it. I love that suit, the black and white suit. I don't understand what Miley Cyrus is trying to do. I just don't understand. I think she's misbegotten in this attempt of hers. And I think it was not beneficial."

Miley Cyrus was first seen wearing a teddy bear-themed swimsuit, which she later stripped off, only to reveal a much more revealing skin-tone two-piece.

Pictures of the famous 'Hannah Montana' star doing some twerking in front of Robin Thicke and almost anywhere on the stage circulated social media just minutes after the show. A Huffington Post report shared that the 36-year-old singer was not pleased with the outcome of their VMA performance.

"Robin thought it would be fun to include Miley, but he didn't realize how much she would overshadow him. This was his big night and big performance," a US Weekly insider said. "I don't think he would have done it knowing what it ended up like." Earlier reports stated that Robin Thicke also faced some controversy for his 'Blurred Lines' music video which contained a lot of scenes showing naked female models.

"For all the controversy and all this other stuff that people try to make it seem like that's more important, what's really important about music and entertainment is to entertain and make people feel good," Robin Thicke told the Associated Press. Paula Patton and Robin Thicke had been dating since Patton was only 16 years of age. They got married in 2005 and had their first child in 2010.
