"French Fry Burger" is the latest offering of Burger King starting this fall, a new fast food menu combo that get rids of the old-fashioned fries-on-the-side burger meal bundle; reports claimed that the French fry burger is Burger King's $1 weapon after McDonald's announced its latest McDonald's wings for its Dollar Menu.
The French fry burger - which is simply a hamburger stuffed with four fries in between the bun and patty - will be launched by the Miami-based chain on Sept. 1, a report from the Associated Press stated.
Aside from the chain's strategic promotions aimed at luring more customers to enter its doors for dining, the French fry burger is also viewed as a healthier alternative since it will spare its customers from more calories they obtain whenever they eat a 390-calorie burger and a 650-calorie medium-sized fries.
On the other hand, McDonald's wings will be available starting November and will only run for a limited-time promo only. McDonald's chicken wings, which will be available in three, five, and ten pcs. set packaging, is said to come with nine different sauces including: Tangy Barbeque, Chipotie Barbeque, and Spicy Buffalo.
Aside from its McDonald's wings, McDonald's will also introduce two other Dollar Menu offerings: McDouble and Grilled Onion Cheddar Burger.
The announcement of the chain's Dollar Menu allegedly forced its competitors such as Wendy's and Burger King to brush up on their product advertising tactics. Daily Mail cites Burger King's two new sandwiches: the Junior and the Whopper, as examples to this claim.
According to recent business statistics, the fast food market competition strategy involving the French fry burger is Burger King's response to its o.5 decrease in sales last year while McDonald's obtained a 1 percent increase on its US sales.
Meanwhile, Wendy's 2012 sales increased by 0.4 percent; Chipotie's, by 3.4 percent, and Starbucks by a whopping 9 percent increment.
