'Transformers: The Last Knight' Release Date, Trailer, & Update: Trailer hits 100M Views

“Transformers: The Last Knight” trailer was released last Monday and has garnered more than a hundred million views, marking it as Paramount’s biggest trailer debut yet.
The trailer for director Michael Bay’s fifth installment of the Transformers series was released during ESPN’s Monday Night Football and in its first 24 hours alone had accumulated an impressive 93.6 million views as reported by Entertainment Weekly. Watch it below.
The preview is the third highest viewed trailer for this year. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is at the top spot with 127.6 million views in its first 24 hours, followed by Universal’s Fifty Shades Darker which had 114 million views during the first hours as well.
Furthermore, it was the number 1 trending topic in Weibo in China; it was viewed 16 million times when it was first released. YouTube and other social media accounts have already picked up on the video and it can be viewed there as well.
The film portrays a battle for a scorched Earth between Optimus Prime and humans, as well as a backstory on the alien planet where the robots are form and their reasons for always choosing to settle on Earth. It offers a surprising storyline for fans as it reveals that Prime is the antagonist this time around, risking the human planet in a robot invasion.
This hot new trailer’s views signals an optimistic future for the film and it makes one hopeful that it will perform better than its predecessor “Transformers: Age of Extinction” which only grossed $245 million according to Jobs and Hire.
The more sequels have also been confirmed by Hasbro. “Transformers: The Last Knight” stars Anthony Hopkins (“Hannibal”, “Thor”) and Mark Wahlberg (“Boogie Nights,” “Ted”) and is coming to theaters in June 23, 2017 in the United States, while it is out a day earlier in Asia and Europe.
