Lance Bass, former N'sync star and now radio host, proposed to his boyfriend, Michael Turchin, in New Orleans, New York Daily News reported Sunday.

Daily Mail stated that the two have been in a relationship since December 2011, so after almost 2 years of being together and just a week after Lance's reunion with Justin Timberlake and former bandmates, he surprised Turchin by popping out the big proposal question with a black diamond ring on hand.

Bass posted their photo on Instagram on Sunday with the caption, "He said YES!! Love this man," then he also announced their engagement via Twitter.

Meanwhile, Turchin, an aspiring model and actor, tweeted just minutes after the proposal, "Happiest guy in the world."

Head Writer and Co-Host of ''Dirty Pop With Lance Bass' on SiriusXM Drew Pokorny told People that the proposal happened in New Orleans where the two spent the holiday weekend together.

"They're so great together. I'm completely thrilled for them," Pokorny said. "Lance had his heart set on asking Michael here in New Orleans and celebrated with some of his closest friends from Mississippi and L.A. who came in for the weekend."

According to People, Lance Bass bluntly stated two years ago that he is longing to settle down soon.

"I'm a Southerner," the 34-year-old radio host said. "[I] dream of having the family and the kids, and the parents want grandkids - that's all they care about, give me some grandbabies."

A source told Daily Mail, "They're such a great couple, everyone is so happy for them. Their friends and family are thrilled."

Lance Bass came out publicly as gay in 2006. He had been linked to other personalities including 'Amazing Race' winner Reichen Lehmkuhlin in 2006, Brazilian model Pedro Andrade the year after, and he formally dated New York-based hairdresser Ben Thigpen from 2007 to 2008.
