Jennifer Lawrence: 'Hunger Games' Actress Apologizes For Joking About Hawaiian Stones

"Hunger Games" actress Jennifer Lawrence has to apologize for joking with Hawaiian stones to scratch an itchy butt. Her joke did not turn out humorous but insulting. Those stones were believed by the Native Hawaiians as inhabited by their "gods."

The actress and the rest of the cast were shooting at the island of Oahu. Her "misdeed" was exposed when she told the story on "The Graham Norton Show."

Jennifer Lawrence was expecting that the audience will have a good time but it was not as expected. Native Hawaiians felt that their gods have been disrespected and their sacred land was dishonored as reported by People.

The highest-paid actress of 2016 used her Facebook account to apologize for the thing she did but innocent of the holiness of the place. She said that she did not mean to desecrate the place.

The guide of the "Hunger Games "production crew explained what happened. According to the expert, Waimea Valley which is located a few yards away from the set location is an archeological site. On it were buried years ago bodies of their dead navigators, doctors, and astronomers. They were the Einsteins and Galileos of their time.

Meanwhile, Jennifer Lawrence has joined co-actor Chris Pratt to promote the movie "Passengers." It will be shown in theaters worldwide beginning Dec. 21, 2016.

She plays the desperate woman trying to survive on the spacecraft. The studio sent the movies to NASA to be sent also to astronauts in space. Former NASA astronauts MichaelMassimino, Nicole Stott and Garrett Reisman also walked the red carpet to promote the movie.
