Android Operating System is one of the most OS that has been used since it was launched. From then on, this is one of the largest OS installed to different phones, and there are a lot of consumers in terms of marketing the product. Now, the OS continue its expansion and improvement from Kitkat to Nougat.
The latest update of Android OS is the Android Nougat 7.0, and the other one (which is available only for certain phones, as of now) the Nougat 7.1. According to Android Authority, these versions create a big impact in everyday tasks because of the new mode where screen can be split, there is a quick reply, the notification has also new designs, it supports multi language, and the quick settings can customize as well. Aside from these, Android is making a step to be efficient with its components and for virtual reality.
Looking back at the developments of Android OS here are some of the differences of the four OS (Kitkat to Nougat):
Android 4.4 Kitkat
The OS has Google Wear Support and transparent IU. It also has Google Now integration. However, the OS only support a lower memory usage.
Android 5.0 Lollipop
It has Android Auto support as well as new setup menu. The materials were designed well and the IU was refreshed. It also support sort of Android TV with 64 bit and ART.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow
The OS improves more in here, it has Google Now on Tap and supports fingerprint API which is better for security purposes with a monthly update of security. It also controls Google applications using the application permission controls. Lastly, it has doze of battery management and the storage can be adopted as well.
Android 7.0 Nougat
Development of OS in here is also great because of the additional features like the split screen for multi-tasking, file based encryption, and quick reply.
These features and update are very good, especially if customers use all of these in everyday tasks. While changing all of these into something new, it really needs a lot of time for developers to improve it. Reportedly, these changes will continue to evolve as years goes by.
Since 2014, 5.0 Lollipop is said to be the popular Android version because many device (until now) still uses this OS. In a report, the 5.0 Lollipop version has a share of 34 percent, while the 6.0 Marshmallow has 26.3 percent of shares, and lastly the 4.4 Kitkat with a share of 24 percent.
While the latest version 7.0 Nougat (arrived last October), only 0.4 percent of users has this OS running in the device. It is said that, it takes more or less than six months for the OS to be in the major force in the market. But in the case of the Nougat by the end of quarter one of 2017 it will probably accelerate than the other release of the previou OS.
In another report from Jobs & Hire, some of the users of Android Nougat encounters such problems like the battery life, Wi-Fi and application installment problem. Users can contact the customers service to make actions, so that tech experts can solve it.
