As fans await the new season of "The Walking Dead" on Netflix, Telltale lives up to the hype by bringing the adventure game's third installment, "The Walking Dead: A New Frontier."
Previous speculations turned out to be true that "The Walking Dead" Season 3 would feature an older Clementine, along with AJ who was just a baby in the last second season, via GameRant. The trailer shows fans where the story was heading. The time jump from the comics is applied with having a younger Clementine in the last season, to a pre-teen version here in the third installment.
Also, a new playable character Javier is shown in "The Walking Dead" Season 3 trailer after being separated with his family during the outbreak. But it wasn't revealed whether Javier will only be a sole player or Clementine would join him. It would be a challenge for developers not to change anything about Clementine, given that she is the fan favorite in the game.
Executive producer Kevin Boyle previously revealed that Javier would be the one to tell what Clementine has become. Clementine and Javier's actions are still driven by the things they value despite the collapse of the society. Javier had been described as a survivor hoping to keep his family together and protecting them from the dangerous apocalypse, according to PCGamer.
"The Walking Dead" franchise co-creator Robert Kirkman said that the game will be on par with the comics, but it seems in the trailer that it isn't. The mark on the walkers wasn't mentioned in the comics and fans weren't aware of that, but in the trailer, it was shown that these walkers will be the new frontier.
"The Walking Dead: A New Frontier" will premiere with the first two episodes on Dec. 20, on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, iOS, and Android. There's a total of five episodes in Telltale's "The Walking Dead" Season 3.
