Freddie Mercury is now 67 years old.

Mercury, born Farrokh Bulsara in Zanzibar, and famed frontman of the rock band Queen, celebrates what would have been his 67th birthday, an event celebrated by millions of his fans from all over the world even after his death from AIDS complications over twenty years ago. He died a day before his (written) public declaration of his disease, which had been, at the time, unknown to the world, and causing great societal rifts and discrimination against the LGBT community.

Well known and best remembered for his strong, soaring vocals as well as his flamboyant showmanship, he had also been known for his defiance against social norms, and was a sex icon to males and females alike. Since his death, many of his most popular compositions live on: "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Killer Queen," "Somebody to Love," "We Are the Champions," and "Radio Gaga," among others.

For Mercury's September 5 birthday last year, Rovio Entertainment has immortalized the rock icon-as a ywllow Angry Bird; complete with the mustache, the chest hair, the bad teeth, and the fabulous crown, of course. Rovio has released a video in honor of the rock star's birthday, featuring "Angry Bird Queen" riding a bicycle with other Angry Birds, facing off with a diffident green pig, all to the tune of Queen's 1978 hit, "Bicycle Race."

The video was released to support the "Freddie for a Day" campaign which occurs yearly on Mercury's birthday. The campaign involves people dressing up as the flamboyant icon to raise money and awareness for the Mercury Phoenix Trust, which is an AIDS charity in Mercury's name.

Angry Birds has also released a special edition Freddie Mercury T-shirt, with a percentage of the profits to be donated to the Mercury Phoenix Trust.
