A Salisbury shooting happened Tuesday night, leaving two people dead and one critically injured, Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday.
Authorities said that an ex-boyfriend targeted a Salisbury University student and her friend at around 6 p.m., after shooting the two the suspect immediately turned the gun to himself committing what is regarded as a "murder-suicide."

The suspect was identified as Ryan Justin Shallue, 21, who apparently headed towards his 20-year-old former girlfriend Kristen Renee Loetz's home on the 100 block of Onley Road off the Salisbury University Eastern Shore campus.

Reports stated that the two got into a confrontation upon seeing each other, so Loetz' friend, Charles Jacob Abbott, tried to intervene to stop the argument.
However, Shallue pulled out a semi-automatic handgun from his pocket and shot Loetz and Abbott prior to knowingly pulling the trigger towards himself, the Examiner reported.

Police said that Shallue was pronounced dead at the scene.Meanwhile, Abbott and Loetz were rushed to Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, where Abbot was pronounced dead later on. On the other hand, Loetz was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma due to her critical condition.

According to the authorities, Shallue and Abbott were neither students at the University. Contrariwise, Loetz is an honors student majoring in nursing, University President Janet Dudley-Eshbach confirmed through a statement.

"This terrible news is shocking, and I remind our students that they are not alone in their feelings," Dudley-Eshbach said in the statement issued on Tuesday after the incident had happened. "The Counseling Center is open this evening and also will be open tomorrow for those seeking comfort and guidance. We are a caring community and I know we will support one another following this tragedy."

Delmarvanow.com reported that the Salisbury shooting shocked many people since the University has just entered its second week of classes when the incident took place.
