Production on “Pitch Perfect 3” has yet to begin, and fans of the comedy cannot wait to see the Barden Bellas again as they belt out new songs in the upcoming film. While the cast of the third “Pitch Perfect” movie has yet to be finalized, it was reported that Ruby Rose is in talks to star in the next installment.
According to Variety, the “Orange is the New Black” star has started negotiations to star in “Pitch Perfect 3.” No word has been released regarding the actress’ role, but it was speculated that either Rose could be a new addition to the Bellas or that she could be a member of a rival acapella group.
Rose has had a busy year as she just wrapped filming on several action movies such as “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage,” “Resident Evil: The Final Chapter,” and “John Wick: Chapter 2.” The 30-year-old is currently filming the thriller “Meg.” Though it has yet to be confirmed whether she will be appearing on “Pitch Perfect 3,” Rose’s IMDB page lists the film as part of her credits.
Meanwhile, co-stars and newlyweds Skylar Astin and Anna Camp are dropping hints about “Pitch Perfect 3.” It was previously announced that Camp will be returning to reprise her role as Aubrey, while Astin has yet to sign on.
Speaking with Popsugar (via Refinery 29), Astin said that he doesn’t know if his character, Jesse, will have a presence in the next movie.
“I’ve heard that they may be taking the girls in another direction this time, but this is not the end of the line for Jesse because he’s not dead,” the actor explained.
As for Camp, the actress said that she would like to have more Justin Bieber songs featured in the third “Pitch Perfect” movie. The “Sorry” singer is rumored to appear in the upcoming film, as previously reported by Jobs & Hire.
“Pitch Perfect” opens in theaters on Dec. 22, 2017.
