The holiday spirit is thick in the air at GameStop! The games retail store has launched a nationwide promotion to give away PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles to lucky shoppers.

Cleverly dubbed as "Let Us Console You", CinemaBlend reports that five game consoles are being handed out to random customers all over the U.S. All shoppers have to do is visit their nearest GameStop store, and they can find themselves at the checkout counter with a brand-new PlayStation 4 or Xbox One - free of charge.

GameStop has been sharing photos of lucky customers holding brand-new consoles since last week on their official Facebook page. Since this a nationwide campaign, the five winners will be selected daily, not per store, but all over the country. Still, this is a huge treat for gaming fans as the promo is set to run until Christmas Eve.

Two of the first winners, Lance and Reese, were chosen at random for simply "walking into the Triangle Town Center" branch of GameStop. Another customer, Luke, won an Xbox One for stopping by the GameStop store in Greer, South Carolina. Yet another shopper, Nicole, got a free PlayStation 4 in GameStop location in Allentown, Pennsylvania.

GameStop also has other deals that can entice customers to give themselves or loved ones the gift of gaming goodies for Christmas. For instance, the store is cutting $50 off on all Xbox One consoles and giving a $30 gift card from Dec. 18 to Christmas eve. Customers can also save $5 off on Xbox One wireless controllers, and $10 off if purchased with an Xbox One console. In addition, GameStop is selling various games at $20 to $30 off their regular prices, such as "Gears of War", "ReCore", "Forza", and "Dead Rising." Full details of these deals can be found in GameStop's official Facebook page.

Jobs & Hire has reported earlier in March that GameStop's shares had dropped as their revenues were lower than expected. This nationwide promo should help increase sales and bring avid game aficionados back to GameStop stores.
