A Kuwait lion was lured into a car's backseat by a brave passerby after noticing that the wild animal was wondering the streets of Kuwait's Bayan district on Saturday, NEWSOXY reported Monday.

A concerned passerby lured a runaway Kuwait Lion, which was prowling the streets of Kuwait city's upmarket Bayan suburb, into his car and then prompted the police for help.

Orange News reported that the man trapped the beast inside the backseat of his vehicle by slamming the door once it got there, then he jumped inside the driver's seat to appease the lion's aggressive behavior.

When the police arrived, they immediately transferred the Kuwait lion into the back of a police car and had it delivered to Kuwait's Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources.

Nevertheless, reports stated that the male lion got angry, partly due to the crammed space, and began to rip up the interior of the vehicle.

"(The passerby) sat inside the car with the lion and then it became dangerous so the citizen called police who came and took it from that car to their car," a police source said.

Meanwhile, police confirmed that the lion was a young adult, and they are now looking for the owner of the wild animal.

Authorities claim that the cub had escaped from his owner's home, who is believed to be illegally rearing the lion as pet since the country considers these wild animals as status symbols for the rich individuals only.

A police spokesman said, "People must be very cautious when they select the animals they want to keep as pets in their homes."

NEWSOXY reported that lions raised by humans as infants are not a threat to the society since they do not normally attack; however, these wild animals may turn aggressive and become agitated when their hunting instinct overtakes what they have learned in their training.
