There are various functions in a tablet that most people are not aware of when they purchase or use one. From assisting you in transferring files to tuning a guitar, a tablet can do it.

USA Today has come up with a list of tricks that your tablet is able to do (in case you did not know). Aside from using it for communicating abroad, getting the latest news or watching videos, you can also use it around the house with other electronics.

First off, remote computer access can be possible on your tablet, making it easy to use your desktop while you are on the road or in another country. Simply download Splashtop on both your computers and your phones, and you can maneuver around your computer using your tab.

You can even move files wirelessly from tablet to computer with Airdrop and Airmore. Instead of emailing yourself files to transfer it to your computer, Airdrop for Apple devices and Airmore for Android ones can be used to share files via Bluetooth.

Did you know that your tablet can also become a remote control for your TV? Tablets that have built-in IR transmitters like the Galaxy Tab, can be used as a universal TV remote, while tablets without transmitters can be equipped with one through the audio jack if you purchase an external transmitter.

Other ways are using Harmony Home Hub or Bluemoo which can control any Bluetooth gadget in the house as long as it is within Bluetooth range. The possibilities range from speakers to smart lamps.

Lastly, with a free app called Guitar Tuna, you can tune your guitar or have a backup device during a gig.
The app is reportedly accurate and easy to use, functioning with most string based instruments like ukulele and mandolins. It even has a metronome and learning tools.
