Before the age of the Internet, many people looked for part-time jobs to make extra money while maintaining a full-time job. But nowadays, people go online to earn some extra income on the side. Earning a passive income without putting in the hours to toil over another job is a great way to supplement one's primary earnings, and there are several ways to do so that would fit a person's comfort level or skill.
Here are five ways to earn passive income
Sell your photographs
Are you an avid photographer? How would you like to earn a few dollars from your work? Your original photos can be a great source of passive income if you sell them to photography websites such as Shutterstock or iStockphoto. These sites offer either a flat rate or a percentage of each photo's fee when sold to a client site. Many photographers have earned hundreds of dollars on a single image as photos can be sold over and over again.
Make YouTube videos
Got a special skill, such as cooking, doing makeup, computer troubleshooting, and the like? Then making YouTube videos might be your ticket to success. Consider the success of video game commentator PewDiePie, comedienne Jenna Marbles, gamer UberHaxorNova, and makeup guru Michelle Phan. According to Good Financial Cents, one only needs to attach Google AdSense to the videos, and ads will show up automatically on the videos. When viewers click on the ads, each video earns money from the Google service.
Sell products or services online
Crafters should take advantage of the Internet by selling their wares on social media. Other people who will benefit from online selling are those who are providing services, such as plumbing, handyman services, home manicure and pedicure and more.
Use the Internet to teach someone
Whether it's teaching English as a second language or tutoring a high school kid in another state on his or her math homework, teaching is a lucrative way to earn an additional income while helping someone else. Make sure to set a definite time for teaching wherein you will not be disturbed, and charge a fair hourly rate for each of your students.
Use your blog or website to promote products
This is called affiliate marketing. If you already have an active blog or website, you can use it to promote products or services on it. You earn by getting paid a flat rate or a percentage of the sale amount.
