Miracle Milly snagged a Guinness record for being shorter than a soup can and standing only at 3.8 inches tall, from backbone to paw, the Seattle Times reported Friday.

The little brown Chihuahua named Miracle Milly landed a Guinness World Record for being the world's smallest dog in terms of height. She's shorter than a soup can and stand only at 3.8 inches tall when measured from backbone to paw.

Miracle Milly is nearly 2 years old and weights only about a pound. She is also known for sticking her tiny tongue out whenever a camera flashes on her.

"She knows how to pose," Miracle Milly's owner, Vanesa Semler said.

According to previous reports, Miracle Milly dethroned Boo Boo, the previous title-holder, a long-haired Chihuahua from Kentucky that stands 4 inches tall.

Semler said that when Miracle Milly was born she weighed less than an ounce and was amazingly the size of a teaspoon. She added that Milly's mouth was so small she had to give her milk using an eyedropper every two hours since nursing from her mother was undeniably impossible.

Miracle Milly slept in a doll's crib next to her owner's bed, and she has grown stronger as months passed.

She now sleeps in a baby's crib and eats nothing but food cooked by humans.

"She really likes salmon and chicken," Semler said, adding that Milly eats four times a day.

Although Miracle Milly is very close to her two sisters (both of normal size), she prefers to stay in the company of people. "She does not understand that she is a dog," Semler said. "She thinks she's a kid."

The Guinness titlist is one of the 10 Chihuahuas that Semler owns. "People are amazed when they see her because she is so small," Milly's owner said. "And she has a big personality. People love her."

Meanwhile, Guinness has a different category for world's smallest dog based on length and the title is still being held by Heaven Sent Brandy, a Chihuahua in Largo, Florida, who measures 6 inches long.
