Will Queen Latifah Be The New Queen Of Talk Shows? [VIDEO & REPORT]

Queen Latifah has an extensive CV: She had been a rapper, singer, comedienne, actress, model...and now she can add TV show host to that list.
With her daytime show The Queen Latifah show making its debut on Monday, she says her show will be something very different for daytime TV.
"...I kind of want to push things a little bit further," the actress has said of what she has in plans for her new show, "I want more choices, more heart, more humor."
She intends to "make noise on daytime TV," saying that she would want to put more music into her show, speaking as a woman whose success had been largely helped by her talents and progress in the music industry. Starting out as a rapper before expanding onto other genres, she already has a musical wishlist in her sights, including the likes of Coldplay, Kings of Leon, and already has Blues singer Alicia Keys and Plain White T's lead Tom Higgenson set to appear on her show for next week's airing.
Her other guests include icons such as Sharon Stone, John Travolta, Jaimie Foxx, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Lisa Kudrow. Latifah has also invited whom she calls as "regular" but inspirational people, who deserve the same wide stage as the celebrities.
Next Monday's show will have a performance by young singer-actress Willow Smith, daughter of actor Will Smith, who will be appearing on Tuesday as well. There's no such bias; Queen Latifah and the Smiths go way back, with the latter partially producing the show.
Queen of daytime Oprah Winfrey's departure from the world of talk shows has left quite a large gap the several aspiring talk show hosts have been aspiring to fill. Latifah does not deem herself a successor, merely a participant.
The Queen Latifah Show will air on CBS, but on different channels and time slots (check local listings for airing schedules and channels).
