A new startup trend has arrived. From online funeral services to legacy pages, these small entrepreneurs are not just providing for you as you live but even at your life's end.
The Economic Times has reported on this startup trend that has begun to make a business of one's death. No, it does not involve the taking of a life, but rather taking care of it.
Cake
Ever wonder what would happen to you in case you are ever in a position wherein you cannot make decisions for yourself? Be it financial or health ones? Well, Cake takes care of that for you.
According to its official website, it helps you make decisions on all End of Life plans such as funeral, treatment preferences, assets and even your social media accounts! For instance, if you want your Tweets saved or archived, or your Facebook account deleted, you can plan so with Cake.
Farewill
This startup allows you to update your will online, anywhere and whenever you deem it necessary. It is all legal and affordable at only £5 a year.
There are just four steps to make it work. You decide on a guardian for your beloved pets (if there are any) and children who are not yet of age, decide who will inherit your possessions, choose an executor, and lastly pay, print, and sign your will.
Parting
Death can be expensive. It is difficult to choose a funeral home and especially decide on one that is affordable.
What Parting does is that it compares the many funeral homes all over the state for you. All you have to do is input the zip code of your area and you can choose from a provided and filtered list.
This startup trend has used technology to make itself more accessible to many. It is making End of Life planning more personal and direct; death need not be a scary future.
