The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Stephen Curry visited Davidson College and was able to recall the start of his basketball career. Curry is one of the most sought after NBA players and being greatly valued and appreciated in the sports industry.
When it comes to his basketball career, Stephen has been positive about it. However, he may have some regrets, especially back in his college days he did not try out for freshmen varsity team. Rather, he settled playing for the junior varsity team, says NBA.
Curry explained that back in his freshman year he was very doubtful if he could join the varsity team. "But I wished I had pushed myself," Curry said.
He added, "That taught me a lot - to just go for it and challenge yourself in that regard and not let doubts or what people might tell you or how short or skinny you might be deter you from where you want to be."
According to Charlotte Observer, all the Curry guys wore the jersey No. 30, however, Stephen was not able to do so because he was a “scrawny kid” back in high school.
“I wanted to wear 30, but the jersey was too big,” Curry recalled. He continued, “I couldn’t fit into that 30 (an XL jersey), so I had to bring it down to something I looked good in on the court.”
Curry’s alma mater, Charlotte Christian School honored him by naming the Davidson's John M. Belk Area after the NBA star. The area will now be called “Section 30.” That was his number with the Wildcats when he led the team to the top Elite 8.
Playing for the NBA has been Curry’s dream and now that he is on top if his game, he remained to be grounded just like before. And for that, he is loved by many.
Meanwhile, Jobs & Hire reported that Curry has been a victim of fake news since there are a lot of articles flooding the internet that he will be moving to Cleveland Cavaliers.
