The Harley-Davidson factory rejected the 45th president of the United States, Donald Trump. The president was reportedly scheduled to make a press appearance in Harley-Davidson's Milwaukee factory but the company decided to turn him away because management was scared that his presence would ignite huge protest in the site.
New York Daily News reported that Trump's staff has already started preparing for the event when Harley-Davidson called the whole thing off. At the factory, the president was supposed to sign a series of executive orders that could impact the manufacturing industry in the United States.
Trump has been very vocal about his desire to boost the manufacturing industry in the United States. He believes that companies should create more jobs in the country rather than expand outside of the United States.
Some people might have thought that Harley-Davidson would have been happy with the arrangement given that Trump has been tagged as business friendly. However, the president's latest executive order concerning travel bans has led to several protests in the United States.
Harley-Davidson decided to cancel the president's appearance at its Milwaukee factory to avoid the fallout, according to reports. However, Fortune reported that Harley-Davidson said there was no planned visit from the president on any of its factories or facilities.
While there were no official announcements made regarding the rumored visit, the Milwaukee Coalition Against Trump has already organized a protest in front of the Harley-Davidson factory. More than one thousand people are slated to attend the protest.
Trump's travel ban has become one of his controversial moves so far. Reports have been circulating that the executive order was meant to keep Muslims and other immigrants out of the United States. Several industries are expected to be affected by the order.
The travel ban executive order is not the only move that put Trump in hot water. Jobs & Hire previously reported that FedEx CEO Fred Smith blasted Trump's decision to make the United States exit the -Pacific Partnership Trade Pact.
