NBA Star And Under Armour Endorser Stephen Curry Calls Trump An Ass

Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. Golden Warrior star player and Under Armour endorser Stephen Curry let the world know that he and the main man of the sportswear company do not agree when it comes to their view on United States President Donald Trump.
Foot Wear News reported that Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank sang Trump's praises in an interview. The action is not surprising given that the new United States president is known for being friendly to businesses that could impact the economy of the country. On top of that, Trump is also known for hitting back on people who criticize him.
Plank called Trump a "real asset" because of the president's stance regarding businesses. Trump has promised to deregulate businesses, a welcome news for several industries that have been hit by the stringent regulatory rules of former President Barack Obama's administration.
In a scathing remark, Curry said the president is more of an "ass" than an "asset." The remark landed Under Armour in a predicament since Curry is one of its important endorsers. The NBA star has gained quite a bit of a following after proving himself to be one of the best shooters in NBA history, CNN Money reported.
It does not appear though that Under Armour took the comment to mean that Curry is against the company. The sportswear company, known for signing up successful athletes, as endorsers said it focuses on policy and not politics. It also refused to discuss its position regarding some of Trump's position.
Curry, meanwhile, said he has been trying to initiate discussions with Under Armour and its management regarding its position on several issues. Other Under Armour endorsers who have berated Plank for his comment include Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Misty Copeland.
Jobs & Hire reported earlier that FedEx CEO Fred Smith is one of the few CEOs who have been vocal about their criticism of Trump.
