Good news for couples who cannot get enough of pizza. Domino's decided to expand its reach and sneak its way into wedding celebrations.
It might be a tad unusual for couples to serve their guests pizzas at their wedding celebration, but it might not be exactly considered weird. On the other hand, it is totally unheard of for couples who are soon to be married to ask their guest to give them pizzas as gifts.
As reported by Daily Mail, that is exactly what Domino's thinks people want. As a result, the pizza company decided to open a wedding registry for couples who really want to get pizzas as wedding gifts.
The online wedding registry is one of the latest marketing gimmicks that Domino's has employed to boost sales using online platforms. The wedding registry comes just after the pizza company launched a Facebook ordering system. Jobs & Hire previously reported that Domino's launched an app that lets customers order just by opening it.
It appears that the pizza company has heard several stories from customers who have used pizzas to mark important events in their lives, WTSP reported. The online wedding registry is meant to make it easier for couples to feed their guests during the events leading up to the big day, including bachelorette party and post-nuptials date night.
Using the wedding registry, guests of the couple can buy e-gift cards that can be used for purchasing pizzas and meal packages. Prices of the gift cards can go as high as $100 and as low as $20.
A couple has reportedly already signed up for the wedding registry. However, the Domino's wedding registry will just be a fun alternative. The couple is still getting the traditional wedding registry where guests can choose what kind of household appliance or gadgets they can give the couples as wedding gifts.
Wedding planner Nicola Wilson does not expect Domino's wedding registry to last forever. She believes that it might be just something new for couples, especially for those who are on a budget.
