It was in 2014 when the world got a glimpse of Jeremy Meeks’ mugshot, which went viral as his piercing blue eyes and chiseled cheekbones earned him the moniker Hot Mugshot Guy. People called Meeks the hottest convict ever, and many thought that he may have a career as a professional model. Fast forward to 2017 and the former convict was able to turn his life around as he made his runway debut at New York Fashion Week.
After Meeks’ smoldering mugshot was posted on Facebook by the Stockton Police Department, he was signed by White Cross Management before going behind bars in 2015 for his conviction. According to Mirror, he was arrested facing federal gun charges and he was charged with being a felon in possession of a .45 caliber semiautomatic pistol. Meeks previously served a nine-year sentence for a felony grand theft conviction from 2002.
Meeks was released in prison on March 10, 2016, and started his modeling career. On that day, he posted an Instagram picture, which shows him wearing a white sweatshirt and standing beside White Cross Management company founder Jim Jordan. It was captioned, “I’m overwhelmed and grateful for what lies ahead. I’m ready.”
On Tuesday, Feb. 14, the father-of-two made his runway debut as he opened Philip Plein’s show at New York Fashion Week in a black outfit featuring a luxurious fur hood. The following day, the 33-year-old took to his Instagram account to post a photo of his debut, thanking Philip Plein “for believing in me.”
Since he finished his prison sentence, it appears that he has turned his life around, and he often posts photos of his with his sons and his wife, Melissa. Opportunities are also coming up for Meeks, as he appeared in a photo with fashion editor Carine Roitfeld on her Instagram account, wherein she called him her “new friend.”
It appears that a new project is brewing for Meeks as he captioned the same photo on his account, “It was great meeting you and your team @carineroitfeld I so look forward to seeing you soon.”
