Are You A Leader Or A Follower?

In the corporate world, leadership is very important. Leadership is a special talent, the art of persuasion. This is an act of motivating other people for the greater good. But the question is, are you a leader or a follower?
In both the corporate and business worlds, leadership talent is such a hot commodity. However, you have to keep in mind that leadership has nothing to do with the title itself, nor the authority or seniority that goes with it. Anyone can be a leader; you do not have to be a CEO or a president just to be called a leader.
A true leader is someone who influences other people to be their best. Natural leaders are known to be confident, competent and socially assertive. As a leader, you have to inspire others to dream more, learn more and become a better individual. Simply, you are an ideal inspiration to a lot of people.
Likewise, anyone can also be a follower. What is ironic is that even those who are holding a leadership position can become a follower. If you are a type of person who has a lack of vision, no self-confidence and cannot motivate other people, then you are a follower. Those individuals who fail to achieve their full potential fall in this category, said Lifehack.
There are certain characteristics that are found in a follower such as having the lack of emotional intelligence and lack of self-discipline. Followers are also easily influenced by other people. They cannot make their own decisions. Another thing is that, instead of following rules, followers tend to break them.
According to Economic Times, if you want to become a successful leader in your workplace, it matters that you know the art of creating followership within your team. Followership is described as an individual’s capacity to follow a leader. This is said to be the reciprocal social process of leadership.
Meanwhile, Jobs & Hire shared about Tom Brady’s great leadership skills. Brady’s outstanding leadership helped boost up his team, which led to their victory over the Atlanta Falcons.
