The National Football League or NFL will host a Women’s Career Development Symposium once more this second to the last week of March. The focus will be on jobs relating to football operations, administration, and coaching.
According to a news report published by Excelle Sports, the NFL’s second annual Women’s Career Development Symposium will be held on March 24 and 25. It adds that it is an attempt by the organization to show its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and growth.
The symposium will bring together more than 40 female executives from various NFL teams. Those who are attending have been nominated by the NFL clubs as well as the staff.
Participants will be educated and trained into roles in the league. The featured career paths include administration, coaching, as well as scouting.
Lindsay Jones, NFL reporter for USA Today Sports, tweeted that the focus of the symposium will be on jobs relating to football operations too. It will also touch on player evaluation and salary cap management.
Excelle Sports has also revealed the speakers that will be in attendance. Chargers President of Football Operations John Spanos, RSE Strategy and Business Development Executive Dawn Aponte, Bengals Executive Vice President Kati Blackburn, Owner of the Cardinals Michael Bidwill, and Falcons Assistant General Manager Scott Piolo will be present.
This is not the first women-focused event that the NFL has hosted. Last January, it also held a careers forum for women. It was an opportunity for women candidates to meet general managers and be introduced into the pipeline, said Samantha Rapoport, the league’s Director of Football Development.
