Fans have been wondering how Glee's new season is going to handle the death of Corey Monteith, how that death works into the fifth season, and how the fifth season will be affected by it.

Last Thursday, Glee executive producer Ryan Murphy tweeted the first promo poster for the upcoming October 10 episode, titled "The Quarterback." It features a black and white photo of the late Monteith, looking serenely at the world, with the caption, The hardest word to say is "goodbye."

"The Quarterback," which is Glee, season 5's third episode, will not be focusing on the exact details of Finn's death, but instead of how his sudden departure affects those who were close to him, highlighting the reactions of the Glee characters through varying perspectives.

Mr. Schue and the rest of the Gleeks gather at McKinley to honor the memory of their deceased friend, with them reacting with how they react to almost every other major issue-by singing about it.

Cast members have pointed out that the third episode features "so many incredible well-written and powerful scenes."

Some of the scenes include Finn's family, the Hudson Hummels (Kurt, Burt, and Carole) sorting through Finn's things, sharing a poignant moment with each other as a family in dark times. Another has Emma worrying that William is not giving himself room enough to grieve for his former student's-and until recently, good friend-death.

The episode also probes into Santana's Bitch-Face-Façade and about her hiding her grief over her lost friend; Puck meanwhile sits down to talk with Coach Beiste about his best friend's death, and decides to honor his memory by making a decision that will change his life, and future. Whatever that is, however, will have to wait until October 10.

Cory Monteith, who passed away in July, at 31 years old, had been attending rehab for drug addiction, which apparently had done little to his problems.

Addiction PSAs are also to be aired in between scenes to help raise awareness around the circumstances behind Monteith's tragic death.
